How to Maintain Your Bitumen Driveway

Bitumen Driveway Toowoomba

To get the most life out of your bitumen driveway, it needs regular maintenance year-round. Like asphalt, it should be thoroughly cleaned at least twice a year, by using a stiff broom and a strong hose spray to scrub away any built-up dirt and debris. It is recommended that you seal-coat the bitumen every two to five years to maintain its attractive, water-resistant surface. To prevent potholes, any holes or cracks should be repaired as soon as possible with an appropriate asphalt repair sealant or material. A bitumen driveway can last anywhere between 12 to 20 years if proper care is maintained. Like most things, the better you care for your bitumen driveway, the longer it will remain in service.
